VIRTUAL INSTRUMENT DESIGN
Mitchell has designed over 20 award-winning virtual instruments and effects for Cherry Audio, LLC since 2017.
The seeds of his design career were planted in the early 2000’s when a “right place/right time” rendezvous landed him a gig writing Keyboard Magazine’s “Steal This Sound” synthesizer programming column, culminating in the Backbeat Books “Steal This Sound” book.
Upon moving to Las Vegas, he parlayed this experience into a part-time position with software developer Acoustica as a product specialist and document writer (for their awesome Mixcraft DAW). When Acoustica expanded into the virtual instrument market with Cherry Audio in 2017, Mitchell was chosen as lead designer, and has principally designed almost every instrument and effect plugin title sivnce. Mitchell’s skill set emphasizes economy of form and efficient UI layout.
Mitchell is a seasoned Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop user, as well as Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro X.
